PAT  DUNN
Westwood

Pat was born and raised in Los Angeles. She studied art with Corita Kent at Immaculate Heart College, where she received her B.A. She toured Europe for a semester, then obtained a lifetime teaching credential from USC.

Patricia taught art to gifted children, later returning to IHC for an M.A. in Clinical Psychology and an M.F.C. license.  She was accepted at the C. G. Jung Institute of Los Angeles for analytical training. Maintaining a private practice in Westwood, she’s proudest of the creativity workshops she’s led over the years, combining art and psychology.  She struggles with the craft of writing creative non-fiction and belongs to a writing group.

She most enjoys travel and also the outdoor life that California offers. She’ll sail, ski, or hike the deserts or Santa Monica Mountains at the drop of a hat. Her most profound experiences have been backpacking in the Eastern Sierra Nevada.

ART LAMBERT
Los Angeles

Art was born and raised in upstate New York, graduating from Syracuse University in 1960. He was drafted for the Korean War and taught mapmaking in the Army Engineer School at Fort Belvoir. After being discharged, he moved to Southern California and started a career in mechanical and electro-mechanical engineering. That career took him from designing and building electronic production machines to aircraft deicing and then to automatic assembly machines and robots. Along the way, UCLA Extension provided the occasional input of math, physics, and computer science that was needed to keep abreast of the changing technology needed in his work.

Arthur retired from full time engineering in 1992, and became a part-time consultant, a part time student, and a full time amateur philosopher. He spends many enjoyable hours reading some of the works of the great philosophers and writers.

After retiring 11 years ago, she has been active in charity fund raising and working in schools with inner-city children.  She is an avid adventure traveler, especially in underdeveloped countries, and continues to enjoy the fine arts, especially opera and classical music.  One of her favorite pastimes is reading diverse publications and keeping current with world affairs.

BERNICE WESTON
Westwood

Bernice was born in New York and attended both Brooklyn College and Brooklyn Law School. After working as an attorney for a number of years, she decided to relocate to London where she married, raised a family and founded Weight Watchers of Great Britain.

She became very interested in the challenges facing the adult population and, through her research, published a number of books on the subject. This led to the establishment of an adult support organization called AgePower.

She is still politically active but also finds time to enjoy attending the opera, listening to classical music, reading, traveling and skiing.
