Monday- 1:00 p.m.                                                             Winter Term 2009
Coordinator:  Chris Holabird                                          Co-coordinator :  Ed Carstens

Course Description:
Every Tuesday the New York Times publishes a section called “Science Times” which includes intriguing, provocative articles on current developments in science, directed at the lay reader and primarily concerning health and human issues.  This S/DG will use a selection from these articles as the basis for our discussions with presenters choosing two or more articles from a given issue in advance to allow time for presenters and fellow members to further explore and research topics.  Subjects are as varied as they are intriguing and include such recent headings as “Love, Sex, and the Changing Landscape of Infidelity”, “Thoreau Rediscovered as the Climate Researcher”, “Wired for Justice (the Urge to Punish is Instinctive)”, and “U.S. and Russian Astronauts, a Collaboration”.
Come join us as PLATO explorers dig below the surface to find the excitement waiting there in the world of new discoveries in science.

Topics
To be chosen by each presenter.
