Course Description
The Western World and America in particular have been the predominant global political, economic and military power for the past five hundred years and today face significant contractions in their global influence as others become increasingly more dominant. .
The challenge of redefining America’s role as many others in the rest of the world grow politically, economically and militarily in importance will become a daunting task in the post-American world. As the rest of the world rises in power, how will America face the future, and what will be the new role for the greatest power that the world has ever known?
This S/DG will review the past development of Western dominance and those of the more important nation states and non-state entities of today and the projected future. With the aid of our core book by Fareed Zakaria, The Post American World, we will attempt to determine what the future will bring.
